On October 14, 2025, Southwestern Medical Foundation proudly presented Carolyn and David Miller with our highest community distinction, The Sprague Award. The evening brought together Trustees, friends, and partners of the Foundation to celebrate the Millers’ leadership and decades of generosity that continue to advance medical education, research, and care across North Texas.

Following the award presentation, guests connected with leaders from UT Southwestern, reflecting on the power of philanthropy to accelerate progress in medicine.

Leading the Conversation on Health: Reimagining Cancer Care

A highlight of the program was our Leading the Conversation on Health panel, moderated by Andrew Koh, M.D., featuring Jaehyuk Choi, M.D., Ph.D., and Laura Klesse, M.D., Ph.D. Together, these UT Southwestern leaders explored how immunotherapy is transforming the way we understand and treat cancer, and how these approaches could extend to many other conditions. The discussion emphasized the importance of philanthropy and how donor support directly leads to significant research work and discovery.
