Michael McMahan follows Kathleen Gibson as CEO, who spent 10 years at the helm of the foundation. McMahan worked for more than a decade at the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

When Southwestern Medical Foundation CEO Kathleen Gibson notified the Foundation’s board last May that after a decade with the Foundation she hoped to step down at the end of the year, a search was undertaken for the person to follow in her footsteps.

Michael McMahan will follow Kathleen Gibson, who has served as the foundation's CEO since 2012.

Dallas-based Southwestern Medical Foundation announced that Jere W. Thompson Jr. has been elected chairman of the board of trustees. It also named six new members to its board during its recent annual meeting.

Southwestern Medical Foundation President/CEO Kathleen Gibson has just reported that the Foundation has a new chair plus six new trustees. Succeeding James Huffines, who has chaired the board since 2019, is Jere Thompson Jr.
