In partnership with Southwestern Medical Foundation, The Cary Council hosts DocStars to celebrate the recipients of its Early-Stage Research Grants at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Each $50,000 Early-Stage Research Grant helps fuel critically important medical and scientific research in North Texas. To date, the 21 researchers supported by The Cary Council have gone on to secure more than $21 million in additional funding.

The foundation said that in addition to her role as CFO, Sarah Fletcher—formerly CFO of the Trinity Park Conservancy—will serve as a foundation officer. Southwestern Medical Foundation recently announced six new board of trustees members for 2023 – 2024. Board Chair Jere W. Thompson Jr. will continue in his role. Tucker Bridwell, Ken Hersh, Dr. Joan Buchanan Hill, Christopher Kleinert, Marshall Payne, and Jennifer Scripps are new trustees.

Lakewood neighbor Jennifer Scripps is a new member of the Southwestern Medical Foundation Board of Trustees.
